Engineer/Senior Engineer (PE or GE)
(Deep Foundation Solutions for Heavy Civil Projects)
Foundation Constructors, Inc. is currently seeking applications for the positions of Engineer/Senior Engineer (P.E. or G.E.) in Oakley or Fontana, CA.
 
The primary responsibility of this position is to analyze customer needs, geotechnical conditions, and structural specifications and to design and engineer the optimum foundation solution(s) for the project.  This process may include the development of estimates that include the use of subcontractors, a variety of materials, labor, and equipment.  It will largely cover projects utilizing stone and soil cement columns, displacement piles, shoring, auger cast pile, helicals, drilled shafts, several alternative proprietary pile types, and ground improvement applications.  This position may also include involvement in project management and marketing.
 
Requirements of the position include:  strong verbal, written, and listening skills; comprehensive analysis, design, and engineering skills; creative thinking and decision making skills; the ability to interpret drawings and specifications; strong computer, time management, organization, and interpersonal skills.
 
A Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical, Structural, or Civil Engineering is required.  Five years of industry-related experience with soils and deep foundation solutions is desired.


Estimator (Deep Foundation Solutions for Heavy Civil Projects)
Foundation Constructors, Inc. is currently seeking applications for the position of Estimator in Oakley, CA.
 
The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare thorough, accurate, and timely proposals and project estimates.  Some project management may occur on a specific application or specialized project basis.
 
Requirements of the position include:  strong verbal and written communication skills; understanding of common estimating practices and procedures; collaboration with subcontractors, suppliers, field and office personnel; understanding of general means and methods of the heavy civil construction trades; ability to interpret drawings and specifications; proven history of planning, managing, and supervising multiple and concurrent projects; strong computer, time management, and interpersonal skills; a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management; three years of combined experience in estimating and/or project management in heavy civil construction.  Prior experience with deep foundations; driven pile, drilled shaft, auger cast, shoring, ground improvement, and helicals, is a significant plus.


Project-Field Engineer (Deep Foundation Solutions for Heavy Civil Projects)
Foundation Constructors, Inc. is currently seeking applications for the position of Project-Field Engineer in Oakley and Fontana, CA.
 
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:  strong written and verbal communication skills; creative and objective problem solving and decision-making ability; technical analysis and reporting of data for systems, quality control, RFI's, change orders, estimating, purchasing and a variety of office and field related activities.  A "can-do", positive attitude, flexibility, multi-tasking, and the eagerness to learn are essential for success in this position.

Project Manager (Deep Foundation Solutions for Heavy Civil Projects)
Foundation Constructors, Inc. is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Project Manager for their Oakley, CA operation.  The primary objective of the position is to ensure every project under the Project Manager's direction is planned and executed utilizing the safest, most productive and financially rewarding strategies while meeting or exceeding the customer expectations for the project.  Key job responsibilities include:
  • Review and complete understanding of the project proposal, estimate and scope of work
  • Communication and resolution of any contract revisions to customer
  • Collaborate with Superintendent in the development of the project plan and the specific personnel and equipment strategy to perform the scope of work
  • Approve the project plan and its deployment to Superintendent for construction
  • Accurately and timely process change orders and billings as well as communicate them with the customer and office where appropriate
  • Approve all changes to schedules of work, changes in work, or other issues which materially affect the financial or production requirements on the project
  • Routinely track and accurately report percent of completed work, billings, payments and production/variance reports
  • Provide leadership and maintain effective working relationships with Foundation's project staff and client representatives
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
  • Proven planning, communication, supervision, management and leadership skills
  • The ability to travel and operate a company vehicle
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a combination of related or equivalent experience
  • Be proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer software packages required

Equipment / Yard Manager
Foundation Constructors, Inc. is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Equipment / Yard Manager for their operations based out of Oakley and Fontana California.
The primary responsibility and focus of this position is for the proactive direction and supervision of the company's two operations facilities and personnel, along with the management and maintenance of the company's equipment resources.
Key requirements of this position include:
  • Strong leadership, communication, and planning skills and direct supervision of up to 8 employees in two locations. (mechanics, welders, and field support)
  • Experienced in the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of heavy construction equipment.
  • Purchasing and oversight of parts, supplies, small tools, and related construction supplies and on hand inventories.
  • Responsibility for all compliance and oversight of governmental issues such as CARB, SWPPP, Cal Osha, EPA, etc. as related to equipment and yard.
  • Contribute to the training and development of the proper operation, utilization and care of the company's equipment and related assets.
  • Oversight of common carriers in regards to insurance requirements, loading practices, or damages to company equipment.
  • The ability to develop and work through a variety of office, field, supplier, and direct employee relationships to support the effective utilization of equipment and the timely needs of each project.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience managing heavy equipment in the heavy civil construction industry, proven leadership, good computer skills, and a CEM accreditation would be a plus.
